Top 5 favorite supplements

Welcome back, friends!

Let's talk about my top five favorite supplements

1. Magnesium.

The benefits are endless.  Regulates blood pressure, glucose regulation, sleep, anxiety, menstrual cycle health, migraine management, absorption of vitamin d, improved bowel movements, liver support, on and on. My favorite form is mag glycerinate (easily absorbed). If you're anxious try magnesium threonate-- it crosses the BBB (blood brain barrier).

2. Omega 3's.

I used to be a critic + the more I learn the more I support this supplement. The biggest reason being that they are very pro anti-inflammatory. Helping to fight free radicals + PGE2 (inflammatory prostaglandins) all of which can contribute a host of symptoms (cramping, migraines, brain fog + even helps normalize testosterone in states like PCOS).

3. Vitamin c + flavonoids

From nourishing your adrenal glands, promoting progesterone, protecting cells against reactive oxygen species (aka oxidative stress), absorption of iron. I'm most impressed with how important vitamin C as an antioxidant to protect us against cell damage that ultimately leads to diseased states when our bodies are unable to adequately protect against oxidative stress.

4. Vitamin D.

I would be remiss if I didn't talk both  the d. It actually behaves more like a hormone than vitamin. Fertility benefits, better periods, energy, immunity, role in insulin secretion, promotes bone growth, improves depression symptoms. It also plays a role in the aromatization process (conversion of testosterone to estrogen) meaning it may play a role for those with androgen excess states such as PCOS.

5. Creatine.

I couldn't help myself. Creatine helps boost mitochondrial function of your cells to produce more ATP (the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell). There are also studies demonstrating a correlation between creatine use and increased serotonin levels, supports muscle building, potential improvements in Parkinson's (bumping that dopamine) + other brain benefits!
